REGIMENTAL MUSEUM

The Regimental Museum, located in Lansdowne was opened in the year 1983 to display the rare collection of the Garhwal Rifles. The Regimental Museum is named after Darban Singh Negi.Regimental Museum is a motivational hall named after the famous Darban Singh Negi. This museum was inaugurated in the year 1983. The Regimental Museum houses numerous antique pieces, belonging to the Garhwal Rifles.

GARHWALI MESS

The Garhwali Mess was built on January 1888 and it later became the present day mess in 1892. The Garhwali Mess is one of the oldest buildings of Lansdowne.During the rule of British and their settlement at Uttarakhand there were many beautiful edifices that have been designed and built by them and so far preserved by state Government that attracts tourists from fartherst corners. One such heritage is Grahwali Mess situated in Lansdowne.

ST. MARY'S CHURCH

St. Mary's Church is a popular tourist attractions of Lansdowne and was built in the year 1895 by Col. A.H.B Hume of the Royal Engineers. It was completed in the year 1896. However, gradually it started to deteriorate after it was disused after 1947. Uttarakhand is a place full of amazing and beautiful places of religious importance. It is home to numerous temples of various Gods and Goddesses that are widely worshipped by devotees and hold great significance in their lives.

ST. JOHN’S CHURCH

After St. John’s Church, another beautiful religious place dating back to British period is St. John’s Church. St. John’s Church is a beautiful structure that was built in the year 1936 under the vigilance of Agra Diocese and is the only running church in the Lansdowne. It is the Roman Catholic Church that is located at the Mall Road. The church splendidly spreads over wide area and encompasses various sections that were used for different purposes by the Church administration.

DURGA DEVI TEMPLE

Durga Devi temple at Kotdwar is one of the famous places here. The holy shrine is located along the banks of Khoh River and is only 9kms away from Kotdwar. Residing deity of the temple is Goddess Durga who is largely preached by the visitors and devotees here. The temple is located at the hill inclination on the road near Pauri.Durga Devi temple is a sacred shrine that is largely worshipped in Kotdwara. Goddess Durga is the residing deity here.

KALESHWAR MAHADEV TEMPLE

This is one of the oldest temples that were constructed for Lord Shiva. This temple is the center of attractions and is a major point of devotion for the people here in Lansdowne. Most of the people from the brave Garhwal regiment visit here to offer their prayers. Kaleshwar temple is situated near the main Lansdowne city. Kaleshwar Mahadev has earned its name after the Sage Kalun who used to perform meditation here.

DANDA NAGARAJ TEMPLE

Danda Nagaraj Temple is a popular religious destination in Pauri, Garhwal region around the Lansdowne area in the state of Uttarakhand. The place experiences huge influx of devotees around the places and far way from to devote their prayers and offering to Lord Krishnna who is the residing God here. The temple is 34kms away from Pauri and is located at the hill top. It is said that whosesoever visits this temple and devote their prayers with full faith; Lord Krishna fulfills all their wishes.

JWALPA DEVI TEMPLE

It is a renowned Siddhpeeth and is located near the road between Pauri and Satpuli.It is a renowned Siddhapeeth that is located at the hills close to the river and promises to offer peaceful and lush green settings. Many devotees visit this temple from different places to offer their praying to Goddess Jwalpa. The best time to visit Lansdowne is anytime between March and November.
